Best Linux Distro 2003 – 2020 | Linux OS 2020 | Linux Distro 2020

This visualization is about Best Linux Distro 2003 – 2020 | Linux OS 2020 | Linux Distro 2020. We have listed out the best Linux distro 2020 based on page hit rankings from Distrowatch. Page hit rankings of Distrowatch indirectly shows overall Linux best OS. There are many categories like the best Linux distro for gaming, best Linux distro for programming and so on but when it comes to overall performance only the best Linux distro survives and only one of those best Linux distro makes it to the top this list. When it comes to best Linux desktop environment and best Linux OS for laptops the ones with more asthetic performance and the ones which can also run on low end PC are the best. But this list doesn’t rank Distros based on a specific category like gaming, programming. This shows the overall popularity of a particular distro. Linux is a family of open source Unix like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991, by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution. Popular Linux distributions include Debian, Fedora, and Ubuntu. Linux was originally developed for personal computers based on the Intel x86 architecture, but has since been ported to more platforms than any other operating system. Linux is the leading operating system on servers and other big iron systems such as mainframe computers, and the only OS used on TOP 500 supercomputers (since November 2017, having gradually eliminated all competitors). Linux is one of the most prominent examples of free and open source software collaboration. The source code may be used, modified and distributed—commercially or non-commercially—by anyone under the terms of its respective licenses, such as the GNU General Public License.

I hope you are not showing what distrowatch shows. Distrowatch list is not accurate.

I hope nobody actually thinks this lists represents an actual BEST, in quality or popularity or usage metric.
also BEST is a term that is pointless without criteia.
Distrowatch doesn't say anything about "best" beyond what pages are being requested on THEIR site. Nothing more. It doesn't say anything about actual usage, or how well the distro is received with it's users. So STOP using that ranking as a metric for anything but what it actually is: a metric for page requests on a single site. The thitle of this video is therefor bullcrap and click bait for people not understanding what "best" means without proper criteria or what it means at all.

There is no known correlation between views of distro details on Distrowatch and downloaded distros in use.

On the video title I see "Best Linux Distro.." while the video actually states "Most Popular Linux Distribution…" which is a lot more accurate.

I take it the video was the fruit of a good intention, however, there's a fair amount of misleading/wrong things:
    0. Most popular (based on distrowatch) != best, just because something is popular doesn't mean it's the best. Thus, the title is misleading (and painfully misaligned with the plot's title).
    1. Why would you include non-GNU/Linux distros in a Linux distro visualisation? Either you need to change the titles and add the missing BSD/*nix distros or remove the irrelevant data.
    2. The visualisation is really nice but the colours aren't helpful and lead to perception bias which is unnecessary.

Notice MX Linux's meteoric rise in 2019/2020. It's not that popular of a distro, so they must be gaming the rankings. Either every MX Linux installation is a botnet constantly pinging distrowatch or they have servers doing the same thing. Either way this is not genuine, and distrowatch rankings are a poor way to estimate popularity, especially when they can be gamed by people hitting F5.

Title should be "Most Popular Linux Distros by hits on Distrowatch", not "best distro". Popular =/= best. Also, hits on Distrowatch =/= best, nor most popular. Still an interesting graph and there is some correlation, but yeah, should really change the title. 😉
