In this video I will show you how we can fix. Unable to find package error in Kali Linux.
First after installing a clean Kali Linux the sources.list contains only tow repository, and if you try to do update it maybe update a few apps and if you try to install a new app 90% it won’t and it will give you a message saying:
E: Unable to locate package, or, E: Package ‘gimp’ has no installation candidate.
For example if you want to install a software using apt-get command,
for demonstration purposes. I will install gimp which is a open-source software for raster graphics editor used for image retouching and editing, and I’m using a p t get command for installing gimp.
Now you can see that I got an error saying, E: Package ‘gimp’ has no installation candidate. so let’s fix this error by editing the sources.list file .
The simplest way is to edit the sources.list file located in e t c / a p t /
to do so open the Terminal and type ( leafpad / e t c / a p t / sources.list )
after this commend, you will get something like this…
now remove every line of them and open your web browser and go to the link given on screen or in the description below.
or you can simple google Kali Linux repository.
here we got the repository of Kali Linux rolling and if you are using any older version. Then scroll down and you will get repository for that version also,
copy the repository and paste it in the source file, and then save it.
go back to the terminal and type a p t – get update. It can take some time depending upon your Internet speed.
after it finsh updating we can install GIMP using A P T get command.
As you can see it’s working fine now and you can install Gimp and update your system without any error.

anyone having "command leafpad not found problem" – here is the solution > type in these commands
"sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list"
then got to https://www.kali.org/docs/general-use/kali-linux-sources-list-repositories/
copy the repository and paste into the kali
then save
then type apt-get update
then install any package you want

Your text to speech sucks ass. The least you could have done was add subtitles so people could understand what the fuck was being said.
