Thank you for this video. It's very helping. Hope to see more if possible
Great video for those interested in learning Linux. Personally, I think it is a service that greatly dispells the myth that Linux is 'HARD' to operate and use. I have been a user since the early nineties and hold my experience in high regard. With that said, I must still say that I am still learning this wonderful piece of software. One suggestion on continuing to produce Linux learning videos. Please dispell the notion that Linux is highly CLI driven and must be used daily to keep the system running smooth. The CLI, like its graphical cousin the GUI, is just another method of getting things done, but with more control. Many people do not understand this and have listened to other people who also believe this. Most if not all are Windows users I suspect. that greatly depend on 'Point and Click'. While veiwing this video, I asked myself "I wonder how many people just "Clicked' off the video in horror as you began to talk CLI?
Thank you,
I noticed that just typing pwd as the command gets you the location not $PWD
Thanks for the project ares sign up!! I've been learning linux basics on there. Its definitely been helping me.
Linux has been forced on me as my sys admin career has gone on. Windows I am very comfortable with, but I know Linux will also need to be something I am comfortable with eventually.
Hey, Zack, can you go over the basis
Better here than never right ;-).
You make it look so easy.
FYI, $PWD is invoking the environment variable for "present working directory".
Normally you'd just use the "pwd" command instead for this.
Awesome! Just joined Linux Academy a couple days ago, really enjoying their format so far.
how do we join the mailing list mate?
What intimidate people about Linux is clearly the name and the talks about command line usage.
thanks a lot you literally answered a question i've been search for. How do you see what your doing in terminal when you are making files and such. It's silly but thank you very much keep putting awesome stuff like this on your channel!
