# Common questions:
What distro(s) do you use?
* Office PC: Manjaro GNOME
* Laptop: Manjaro GNOME
* GPD WIN 2: Manjaro GNOME
* Steam Machine: Manjaro GNOME
* Server: Ubuntu 18.04
# What do you use to edit your videos?
Audio editing: Audacity
Video editing: KdenLive
# Why aren’t you using other video services like LBRY or PeerTube?
I am on LBRY: and I also have a BitChute mirror.
Most PeerTube instances have a data quota that just doesn’t serve my channel well. My videos are high-res (4K) and I’d exceed most quotas in one or two videos.

#DRM
Shared, !
Double standards much? If you want Free Linux, use the Linux Libre kernel, its been around for at least a decade: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux-libre and simply don't use proprietary services like Hulu etc.. Problem solved.
DRM should not exist. At all.
The kernel (or default graphics drivers, really) should automatically strip DHCP, not support it. If we somehow don't have master keys yet, there should be a moonshot community codebreaking effort to derive them (or more practically a crowd-funded cryptocurrency bounty to whoever first steals and releases them, no questions asked).
To Hell with the law. I care about what's right. People deserve to use, disassemble, resell, and service products they purchased without any interference from the manufacturers. The modern DRM-enabled "buying without ownership" trend is slipping into everything these days, from farm equipment to CNC machines, and we need to kill it at its source.
Push the DeCSS line. The future is literally at stake.

Why the hell do we need drm for free software?
That isn't a question?
Agreed, I wonder what Linus Torvalds thinks about this subject. Trust Microsoft…as much as I trust Google, or Facebook. Microsoft screws everything it touches… Foxpro (Yes, I still hate them for closing best software ever), Skype, and now Git. MS go away please, just keep robbing your corporate clients for your Office and Windows product…. Former Microsoft Partner.
…where do I have to go now?
Maybe stop using Hulu, Netflix, etc!
There is still the 'linux-libre' project. And i believe that the vanilla Debian's kernel is de-blob-ed as well. In fact Debian system, including their main repository is 100% free software. The only reason that Debian is not official FSF approved GNU/Linux OS, is their 'contrib' & 'non-free' repositories, which are not enabled by default, but still available on their servers.
all the little extra hassles that come along with linux is only put up with because its free. if its not free then why use it?
as far as I understand the repo, the hdcp module IS a device driver for GPUs. So it sounds like this just enables the kernel to established the hdcp encrypted channel with the gpu; without this capability hdcp encrypted videos wouldn't even work outright. So what gives?
Be the second Linus Thorvalds and Richard stallman
Why would Microsoft need our trust? I don't trust MS but I also don't trust any corporation starting with intel, amd, nvidia, apple, arm, ibm and ending with google.
The real problem is that I find MS software and software development tools to be either bloated ancient crap that somehow still works or spectacularly buggy, badly designed and slow.
Get into how did this happen. Was there a discussion? Was it covertly sneaked in? Who signed off on this? What did Linus have to say about it?
linux-libre exists guys
DRM mostly is just there to appease the share holders.
I 💓 VLC!
If I remember correctly, HDCP is in the Radeon driver software, and you can turn it on and off in settings. Not on my PC right now so I can't make sure.
omg..hes a Gamgee..
The problem is not the "Digital Rights Management" idea itself. I do believe the content creators should get their reward for the hard work they do. The problem is the encryption being baked in to hardware like the HDMI connections that being HDCP. So like your example with Hulu and that is wrong, so final thought is how does the HDCP recognize you do have the rights to play Hulu or other DRM content if the baked hardware can not recognize you have the right to do so?
